3 Devices That Will Take Your At-Home Skin Care Regimen to the Next Level

Have “maskne” (acne from your mask)? Your esthetician’s books still closed? Here are a couple of devices that can help take your at-home regimen to the next level.

A steamer is the first device that will easily upgrade your at-home experience. Steam has many benefits for your skin. It opens up your pores and helps loosen any buildup of dirt for a deeper cleanse. It also helps release dead skin cells, bacteria, and other impurities that clog the pores and contribute to acne. The combination of warm steam and an increase in perspiration dilates your blood vessels and increases circulation. This boost of blood flow nourishes your skin and delivers oxygen. Oxygen helps to kill bacteria. Increased blood flow also stimulates collagen and elastin production. Steam is also hydrating and aids in product absorption. These aid in a more youthful glow! You can purchase a personal steamer from Amazon. Always cleanse before or while steaming. Alternate being in the steam for 2 minutes at a time and taking a break for 1 minute.

High-Frequency Machine

What is a high-frequency machine? I’m glad you asked. It’s a device that uses alternating current to produce a heating effect. This heating effect provides a mild tingle when in contact with the skin. High frequency has an antiseptic and healing effect on the skin. It helps to stimulate circulation, which brings oxygen to the skin and speeds healing as well as kills bacteria. This machine is magical. It can shrink a pimple before your eyes. Also, depuff your eyes in the morning. There are some contraindications for using this machine. Please research those before considering buying a device. Use this device on clean skin.

Ultra Sonic Skin Scrubber

This last device is my favorite for a deep cleanse. It’s my Ultra Sonic Skin Scrubber. Ultrasonic devices feature vibrations of up to 30,000 Hz, which basically “jiggles” out impurities from the pores as it exfoliates the surface of your skin. It’s also aids in the penetration and absorption of your serums and moisturizers. I wouldn’t recommend using this every day as you could over-exfoliate. To use this machine, make sure your skin is wet so the device can glide.

How is your skin holding up during this pandemic? What are some of your skin goals? Let me know!
